Data of our Account Books is the base of any companies account (In TallyERP.9). But some times I lost data because of data corrupt or data errors. So I give some basic tips how to maintain your tally data safe & secure for long time without any problem. Tally provide you auto backup facility in ERP.9 release, before this release tally does not have this feature. But the customers of tally call & complaint of corruption of tally data or error in data, therefore tally make this option in there ERP Release. This option provide you to maintain your data in safe side. Let we start how we backup our data in TallyERP.9
Auto Backup can carried out by executing the following Steps:
When Company Creation or Alteration screen is appearing, then Set Yes to Enable Auto Backup as shown in below image (In Red Circle):
Accept Yes the Company Creation / Alteration Screen.
The data backup is stored in the data folder of the respective company.
E.g.: A company titled ABC Company has a folder 10009 located in C:Tally.ERP9Data. On enabling Auto Backup feature the backup file ABK.900 is created in C:Tally.EPR9Data10009
Restoring Auto Backup Data
To restore the auto backup taken execute the following steps:
From the Gateway of Tally
Press Ctrl + Alt + K.
Restore Company on Disk screen appears.
The Source field displays the data path of the company under Select Auto Backup to Restore screen. Press Enter.
The List of Auto Backup(s) will list all the companies enabled for Auto Backup.
