The Indian 2000-rupee banknote (Rs. 2000) is a denomination of the Indian rupee. It was revealed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 8 November 2016 after the demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 banknotes and is in circulation since 10 November 2016. It is a part of the Mahatma Gandhi New Series of banknotes with a completely new design.
The Indian Rs. 2000 rupee note is the highest denomination of currency note printed by RBI that is in active circulation, ever since the 10,000 rupee note was demonetised in January 1978. Before the official announcement by RBI, media reported that Rs. 2000 notes have been printed from the currency printing press in Mysuru by the end of October 2016.
Now the main part of this post is how we can deposit Rs. 2000 note in bank with showing denomination of Rs. 2000 in deposit Slip generate through Tally.ERP9.
First you need to update your tally to latest version (Version – Series A Release 5.4.8 or higher). Now create a contra entry as below image:
Cr.: Cash – Rs. 25000
Dr. Bank – Rs. 25000
Now Bank allocation ask you to enter the note denomination. In below entry i enter amount Rs. 25000 with following denomination
2000 x 2 = 24000
1000 x 1 = 1000
Now save the entry.
After save your entry – Now go to Banking – > Deposit Slip – Cash Deposit Slip. Select the bank for which cash deposit slip you want to print. Press Alt+P on cash deposit entry, print window appear on screen:
Select yes on 1st option (like above image). Now cash deposit slip appear on your screen, again press alt+p and its done.
