Control Centre


Control Centre is a new feature introduced with Tally.ERP 9. The Control Centre works as an interface between the User and Tally.ERP 9 installed at different Sites, it enables the user to centrally configure and administer Site/ User belonging to an account.
The features of Control Centre are as follows:
  • Manage Licenses
  • Central Configuration - TDL and General
  • Manage Users
  • Manage Company Profile
  • Manage Accounts (using My Tally.NET Accounts)
  • Change Account Administrator
  • Manage Passwords
  • Activity History
  • Jobs and Recruitments
  • Shop (Coming Soon)

Login to Control Centre

To start Control Centre follow the steps shown:

Go to Company Info menu or Gateway of Tally

     1.  Click Ctrl + K: Control Centre or press Ctrl + K



  1. The Login As Remote Tally.NET User screen appears:
    Enter the User ID in Your E-Mail ID field.
    Enter the password emailed in Your Tally.NET Password field.



Based on the authentication received from Tally.NET you can access the Control Centre.
The Select Account screen appears as shown:











Note: The Select Account screen appears for a multi-site account or when your ID (user name) is linked to multiple accounts

  • Select the required account name from List of Accounts displayed.
  • Press Enter.
Note: Depending on the requirement you can enter the Account/ Site Administrator’s ID to administer an Account/ Site respectively. You can also provide the other User ID to access the support centre and access other areas of the control centre based on the permissions assigned.

Incase you have forgotten the Password, provide the Account ID/Site E-mail ID/ User ID in Your E-Mail ID field and press F5. The new password will be emailed to the respective E-Mail ID.

To reset the password click F5: Reset Password or press F5

In case the user is logging in to Control Centre, Support Centre, Remote User, Surrender License and Update License for the first time after creating the account. Tally.ERP 9 will automatically take you to change the password. To know more on how to change the password click Change My Password.

Control Centre for an Account
On selecting the required Account ID the Control Centre screen for the selected account appears. In this screen you will be able to Recruit employees and post your Job requirements, Assess the knowledge level of your employees, Configure, Confirm/Reject Site Activation, Create Users and Assign Security Levels, Manage your Account details, etc.











The My Tally.NET Accounts screen displays the options available which are briefly described below:
  • Licensing & Configuration: To  configure and Confirm/Reject Site Activation
  • User Management: To create Remote Users and assign security controls
  • Jobs & Recruitment: To place your job requirement and select candidates for employment.
  • Assessment: Assess the knowledge level of your employees through test paper management.
  • Account Profile Management: Maintain details related to your account
  • Change Account Admin:  Allows the Account Administrator to change the Account Administrator’s User ID

The other buttons available in the vertical toolbar of the Control Centre are as follows:

F1: Select Account: To select another account while working in the Control Centre.









M: Manage Account: Displays the Account ID, Account Name and Account Type for the accounts which the user belongs to. The detailed view of My Accounts screen appears as shown:










P: Change Password: To change the Account/Site Administrator's Password.
W: My Profile: Displays the contact name and mobile numbers of the Account/Site Administrator.
S: My Sessions: Displays the active sessions for the Account/Site Administrator.


Licensing & Configuration

The Account administrator can configure and surrender a site belonging to an account. The configuration set can be created for each site by the Account/ Site administrator. Further, the Account administrator can allow or restrain the site administrator from making any changes to the configuration set locally.

Change Site Status

To change the status for a Single Site follow the steps shown

  • By default the status is Active, based on your requirement you can surrender the license by selecting Surrender from the list of Status.  The license status are briefly explained for your benefit:
  • Active: indicates that the site is in operation
  • Surrender: indicates that the site has been surrendered
Creating General Configuration and TDL Configuration package for is similar to that mentioned in Multi Site. For further reading on creating the configuration packages click on the corresponding links.

Licensing & Configuration for Multi Site

The Account/Site Administrator can configure and surrender a site belonging to an account. The configuration set can be created for each site by the Account/Site administrator. Further, the Account administrator can allow or restrain the site administrator or user from making any changes to the configuration set locally.
In the Control Centre screen
  • Select Licensing & Configuration

Provide details for a site and change the status

The Licensing & Configuration screen appears as shown:















By default the cursor is placed on the Site ID field, to alter/ change the site name type the required site name in the Site ID field and press Enter to provide the Site Details in the Site Profile form as shown:
















In the Licensing & Configuration screen:
  • By default, the Site Administrator’s E-Mail ID appears in E-Mail ID of Site Administrator field, type the required site administrators E-Mail ID in case you require changing it.
Note: By default, the Account Administrator is authorized to change the E-Mail ID of the Site Administrator.
  • The current state of a Site is displayed in Status field. You can select the required status from the list of Status. The list of site status are briefly explained below:
    1. Active: will be displayed when the site status is in operational mode.
    2. Surrender: will be displayed when the site is surrendered
    3. Confirm: select this status to validate the activation of a site
Note: In case, a site is not confirmed within 15 days from the date of activation, by default, it will be treated as rejected.
    1. Pending for Confirmation: is displayed when the site is awaited confirmation by the account administrator
    2. Reject: select this option to decline the validation of an activated site.
In case the Account Administrator rejects or declines the confirmation of a site, you can once again activate the site using the option Activation of an Additional Site for your Organisation.
Similarly, the account administrator can provide the Site details, change the E-Mail ID of the Site Administrator or change the status for other sites within the account.

Note: Once the Account administrator confirms the activation of a site, the status Active & Surrender are available.

To reactivate a Site you have to follow the reactivation process discussed in Licensing.

To Create Configuration set for a Site

 General Configuration

In the Licensing & Configuration screen
  • Click on F6: Show Config or press F6
  • The General Config and TDL Config fields appear
  • In the General Config field, press Alt+C to create configuration
  • The General Configuration Management screen appears
  • Enter the required configuration name in Name of Configuration field. The configuration parameters are saved with the configuration name provided in the account.
  • Set Yes to Want to set client/server configuration to create a fresh set of configuration.
  • In Tally is Acting as field, select the required behaviour from the list of Client/Server list. Tally.ERP 9 will act as Server/Client/Both based on the parameter selected.
  • Set Enable ODBC Server to Yes, when you want to transfer data from any third party application to Tally.ERP 9 or Vice Versa.
  • Enter the required port number in Port field.
  • Set Can be overridden locally to Yes, when you want the above parameters to changed / modified by the site administrator locally.
  • In Disallow Request section
    1. Specify the required Server Name/ IP Address/URL in From field to deny a request from the Server/IP Address/URL.
    2. Similarly, specify the required Server Name/ IP Address/URL in To field to deny a request to Server/IP Address/URL
  • In Allow Request section
Specify the required Server Name/ IP Address/URL in From field to allow a request from the Server/IP Address/URL.
Similarly, specify the required Server Name/ IP Address/URL in To field to allow a request to Server/IP Address/URL.





















  • Accept to save the General Configuration
  • Select the specified configuration package in the General Configuration field.

TDL Configuration

  • In the TDL Config field, press Alt + C to create a TDL configuration pack
  • The TDL Configuration Management screen appears
  • Specify the required configuration name in the Name of Configuration field.
  • Set Allow Local TDLs to Yes, incase you want the user to load and execute local TDL’s.
  • In Specify Account TDLs for loading select the required TDL from the List of Account TDLs. The required account TDLs are included by logging to your account from www.tallysolutions.com. 









  • Accept to create the required TDL Configuration Package.
The Completed Configuration package for respective serial number is appears as shown:














  • Accept to create configuration package for your Account.
Note: When Tally.ERP 9 is started after including/updating the Accounts TDL under TDL Config, it will prompt with a message during heart beat 'Account TDLs are updated. Please restart your Tally.ERP 9 for the changes to take effect'. Restart Tally.ERP 9 for the effect to take place.

For an immediate effect of Accounts TDL, you may start Tally.ERP 9 and Update license.

Detailed view for each Site

In the Licensing & Configuration screen click F1: Detailed or press Alt + F1
The Licensing & Configuration screen appears as shown:















Details for each Site based on the Serial Number

In the Licensing & Configuration screen
Click F3: Serialwise or press F3
The Licensing & Configuration screen appears displaying the statistics for each serial number














To View/ Alter General Configuration

In the Licensing & Configuration screen
Click F7: Gen Config List or press F7
The Select Item screen appears

















  • Select the required configuration from the List of General Config
  • The General Configuration Management screen appears
  • You can make the required changes to the parameters in the General Configuration Management screen and save the changed parameters.

To View/ Alter TDL Configuration

In the Licensing & Configuration screen
Click F8: TDL Config List or press F8
The Select Item screen appears













  • Select the required configuration from the List of TDL Configs
  • The Configuration Management screen appears
  • You can make the required changes to the parameters in the General Configuration Management screen and save the changed parameters.
The Licensing & Configuration screen also displays information on the following:
  • Total Number of Site(s),
  • Number of Active Sites
  • Site Pending for Confirmation
  • Number of Sites Not User
  • Number of Sites Surrendered.
