Due date Extension of Income Tax, Tax Audit and Annual GST Return

Due to Covid - 19 pandemic, each business survives to stand, there is no business or no income increase in this pandemic. Due to covid some of the business just about to close, so government giving a big relief to file Income Tax Return, Tax Audit Return and GST Annual Return Form 9, also TDS return date is extended to 31st March 2020 for September 2020.

Income Tax Due date extends

Government extends the due date of Income Tax Return and Tax Audit vide press release on 24th October 2020, and extended due dates are as follow:

Government also give relaxation to pay self assessment tax for small and middle class taxpayers. Relief only granted if self assessment tax liability is not more than Rs. 1,00,000/-


In order to further extend such relief, due to the payment of Self Assessment tax is further extended till 31st January 2021 for the tax payers who required to get their accounts audited or required to submit a report of specified/International Domestic Transaction and for other taxpayers revised due date of payment of self assessment tax liability is 31st December, 2020.


Extension of GST Annual Return Form 9 & Form 9A for FY 2018-19

Vide press release dated 24th October, 2020, CBIC has extended the due date of filing of GST Annual Return Form GSTR 9 and GSTR 9A and Reconciliation Statement GSTR 9C for FY 2018-19 from 31st October 2020, to 31st December, 2020.

Please note Annual return is optional for those suppliers whose aggregate turnover is less than 2 Crore during FY 2018-19 and similarly, reconciliation statement in GSTR 9C is also optional for Suppliers whose aggregate turnover is less than INR 5Crores during the year under consideration.
